Enjoy a canoe trip down the River Severn, starting in Bridgnorth or Hampton Loade and paddling downstream through beautiful countryside. Our canoe day trips are self-guided and suitable for beginners, friends,  families, groups and children aged 7+. Choose from shorter 2-hour trips, half day paddles or full day adventures. Our most popular route is the journey from Bridgnorth to Arley, which takes around 4 hours, with time for a picnic stop along the riverbank or a relaxed lunch at the pub. You can also choose the canoe and train option to return to Bridgnorth.

Kinver canal kayak hire (paddle & pub)

Enjoy a relaxing kayak trip on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal, starting and finishing at The Vine Inn in Kinver. This gentle 90-minute round trip follows a beautiful, peaceful stretch of canal and is perfect for beginners, friends, groups and families, with children aged 5+ welcome. Paddle at your own pace through the quiet countryside before returning to The Vine Inn, where you can relax in the canalside garden and enjoy their delicious woodfired pizzas.

It’s a really popular and easy family outing and much loved by groups of friends too.

Canoe on the River

Multi-day trips on the river severn

Enjoy a multi-day canoe adventure along the beautiful River Severn, paddling through some of the most scenic stretches of the river. Our self-guided trips are available as 2, 3, 4 or 5 night journeys, giving you plenty of time to relax, paddle at your own pace and explore the local area. Depending on the route you choose, you can stop in charming riverside locations such as Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Hampton Loade, Arley and Bewdley.

Stay overnight at campsites or cosy

B&Bs along the way. Longer trips are best suited to people with some paddling experience.

Whether you're paddling a canoe on the beautiful River Severn or enjoying a relaxed kayak trip along the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, you don't need lots of specialist gear. We provide the canoes, kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids- you just need to bring a few simple things to stay comfortable on the water. Our quick guide explains what we recommend bringing with you.

How to find us

Most of our River Severn Canoe trips start is in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, a historic riverside town in the beautiful Severn Valley. Most of our canoe trips start here but please check your email confirmation as this will tell you where to meet us for the trip you have booked.

 

Our canal kayaking start at The Vine Inn, Kinver on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal, a peaceful and scenic stretch of water perfect for beginners.


Both locations are easy to reach by car from the West Midlands, Shropshire and Worcestershire, with parking available nearby. In this section you’ll find maps, directions and arrival information to help you get to the right place and start your adventure smoothly.
